Решил послушать как это звучит. Заценил произношение на португальском ("бразильский" его подвид) там - http://www.portugues.pro/translator/ - мне слышится, что произносят как Барау

Вообщем я конечно не лингвист, но мне кажется, что @Ali, настаивает на ошибочной версии
